I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium several months ago.

1. Windows updater has not worked since upgrading and when I check what it is doing the system is looking at http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/vistadefault.aspx?ln=en-us
which looks like it is still looking for Vista updates. Windows Update troubleshooting doesn’t come up with a problem or a solution

2. Also recently I have not been able to download files and Run or Save. The download gets to 99% or to 1 second left and then just hangs.

I have tried with and without Windows Security and also tried with and without Mcafee Security. Essentially I have beeen trying to resolve this all day but am getting nowhere.
