Windows 7 User Submissions

Windows 7 is OK, I guess

I've been using RC1 since it came out. It's ok, I guess, but there are several things that are very strange.

First, the PC will not shut down, whether it's for an update restart or anything else.

I just let it run for a 5 or 10 minutes, then just hold in the power button to shut it down.

Second, although it's supposed to be less bulky than Vista, it seems to gobble up CPU resources twice or more than Vista, slowing down my system a lot.

Start up doesn't seem to be any faster than Vista.

I enjoy some of the new features, but so far, I'm still sticking with Vista on my 2 laptops and the desktop at home, and XP (and WIN2k on a couple of desktops)at my business.

I love being an early adopter, but when it comes to operating systems, I am not so adventurous.

I need something to work, and don't have the time to fiddle with something new if it doesn't work out of the box.
