Windows 7 Is Dangerous
by Ken
(About Facts Net)
My new Windows 7 Ultimate update from Windows XP has made all my directories read only.
This includes 2 external hard drives. The files in the folders are NOT read only.
I have tried the following fixes but to no avail:
1.a simple updating of the check box in the fold
2.going to the properties for the folder, then going into Security I found that I have all the permissions there and I am signed in as the Administrator
3.I changed my name as administrator several times anyway and started new accounts and this did no good.
4.I inserted the Windows 7 disk, booted and did a repair, again to no avail.
I can not think of anything else to do.
To top off everything the copy of Windows 7 that I bought from Newegg is giving me a product number that Microsoft service won't accept even though it worked to install the system.
If anyone has solved this problem please let me know.
Thanks,
Ken
