In agreement with your opinion, I bought (2) upgrade keys for Windows 7 that wouldn't take on my older pc's( they did run Vista before I went back to XP) . Anyway the solution was to purchase a full Windows 7 Ultimate OEM version which works fine. On my recent laptop Dell studio I waited and let them install W7....On a day to day basis XP is still running all of my programs and not getting in the way. You can't kiss an OS system...Its an engine that runs my programs...etc. I don't know anything about Linex...but Windows 7 is a big waste of money...
