Windows 7 Inter-changable

Hi, My name is Max and I work in IT. I have dealt with many versions of Windows some being amazing (Winows XP) some not so good (Vista) and awful versions like ME. I wasn't expecting much from Windows 7 but it has amazed me quite a bit.
One thing that really blew me away: If you take a hard drive with Windows installed on it and put it in another computer to boot from there is a 99% chance it will simply Blue Screen and not work at all.
Recently my Laptop which has Win 7 RC installed died due to a power fault and I can't get it fixed. With no time to install another computer and put all my data on it as well as installed programs I was in a bit of trouble.
I thought I knew what would happen putting my hard drive in another machine to boot from but I would give it ago anyway.
To my surprise it booted first time, took a minute or two for drivers but found everything all on its own.
I was simply amazed with this and thought it must of been a fluke so I have moved it to two other laptops (different models and manufactures) and every time it has booted first time and got all the drivers on its own.
I was truly amazed with how flexible windows has come to hardware and certainly think its worth upgrading just for this... As well as all the other features.
