Windows 7 freezing.
by: Lawrence

I had a similar problem a few days ago. The day before the problem started I had downloaded MS Security Essentials to give it a try and it worked fine until the day after. The system kept freezing during bootup, mouse not working. Had to go into safe mode and use System Restore. I noticed that just after I had installed Security Essentials there was also a MS security update which had been installed. I still don't know the exact cause of the problem but removing Security Essentials by system restorein safe mode has done the trick.
I am using AVG free, PC Tools firewall plus and Threatfire which all work fine together.

What you need to do is get rid of AVG. I was having the same problem i removed AVG and replaced it with avast, i can now leave my internet on all day without the computer crashing

Does it still do that in "Safe Mode"?
