freezing doing my head in

i brought an acer el1333 decktop with windows 7... 1st day of using it the computer froze twice... the whole computer freezes on the page i was looking at..... clock stops working everything..... hard drive makes funky sounds also when it happens?????

me too kinda (64 bit) with the freezes

with my upgrade to "7" on laptop... now any browser other than IE (surprise surprise) will periodically freeze as well as programs like Raxco PerfectSpeed and others; didn't happen on Vista (as bad as it was) or XP, their most stable OS since NT...e-mailed tech support at both Microsoft Windows 7 and Toshiba who provided the free upgrade... NOT EVEN the professionalism of a reply or solution from either and certainly no patch or fix YET...contacting Windows 7 tech so far has been a waste of time and energy... what else it newe? may be time for a Mac
