Windows 7 Desktop Problem

Hi everybody plsssss help me.I have this problem.

I had windows xp then i had to format my PC so i installed windows 7 but after a week using windows 7 my desktop didn't worked.

Whenever i clicked on my desktop or on a desktop icon it said:"WINDOWS EXPLORER HAS STOPPED WORKING"plssss help me i don't know what to do.
