might be a long shot but have you checked your graphics card is o.k to run windows 7 i had a similar problem , windows 7 was running but with only the basic graphic drivers for the board and when i updated my graphics card to the minimum basic required [ cheapest poss off ebay ] it worked great - i then upgraded my card further to fully enjoy win 7 ---- hope this works for you
