Windows 7 User Submissions

Windows 7 activation and internet connection

Being a MS customer since 8088 I would think by now when I buy a new OS, ie: 7 that it would install correctly.

New machine, MSO 790GX G65 with AMD Phenom II 805 x4 CPU, 4 GB ram. Full install disk of Win 7 Ultimate.

Installation fine, also installed Office 2007 and before proceeding established internet connection on Home network.

Belkin N1 router, hard wired. Windows 7 confirms connection and sees ip 192.168.2.5 (both ways) but Ping Bing.com times out.

Belkin tech support says Windows issue and believe it to be a "firewall". Windows firewall is disabled and still unable to ping.
