Thumbs down

I can't see how some love the 64 bit yet a lot of us have so many problems. I purchase a new HP laptop that came with windows 7 64 bit and also has Internet explorer 32 bit and have a lot of problems with it from the beginning. I probably will try to reinstall with 32 bit only. It doesn't matter how fast the 64 bit is if it doesn't work. If anyone has a magic fix I'll try it.

64 bit sucks a bit in performance
by: Anonymous

okay ...I installed both 32 bit and 64 bit ...32 was all fine ...FAST..yes i know it can use only 3.5 out of my 4 GB ram..but was fine ...it ranges from 550MB to 1GB when IDLE. .....then i tried to install 64 bit ....most programs worked fine ...but what about the 1.5GB or more of ram when IDLE? ...and now while im posting this it's 2.22GB ..and the pc lags a bit while gaming and opening stuff ! :\

windodws 7 is no better than VISTA or xp home ed.

I do not care who thinks that a user is the reason basic operation of a brand new PC has errors and fails to function. This laptop is brand new and with no 3rd party added software. But yet again microsoft has hyped up a turd OS and pushed it off to consumers to get screwed and want to throw the damn thing out the window. WHY? It's not like its the first time they have done this. And to add insult to injury the one OS that was outstanding XP PRO gets discontinued?? DAMN YOU MICROSOFT AHOLES. I never ever had problems with it. No freezing, no stalled programs..no ahole viruses hackin in. NOOOOOO you had to go and screw just the little bit of faith people had in a decent pc working right. I agree MAC is the way to go.

Worst Install Ive ever done yet!
by: John

Sorry Bill, But you need to stop throwing partys with my hard earned money and start bull whipping your employees at Microsoft!

Windows 7 has been the worst install I have done to date and I have installed every version made starting with DOS 3.0 (before windows existed) when I was 12 years old.
Cant seem to locate a fix for my problems anywhere on top of that. And its not like I can get my $209.00 bucks back since it is "software"

Live and learn I guess, shoulda waited but I figured this would have been fixed seeings how Vista was a dam flop as well.

They both fall under the Windows Millinium flop catagory as far as im concerned.

Hello MACINTOSH here I come! im done with ya PC asses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People who use "Sucks ass" usually do
by: Anonymous

Sounds like sombody who has windows 7 doesnt know how to use it. Those type of people usually resort to the "Sucks ass" rhetoric.

I use windows 7 ultimate x64 and have never had a problem with it. Mind you I had windows Vista x64 Ultimate and never had a problem with that either.

Do I have a magic computer that never goes wrong or do I actually know how to use it?

64 bit, two thumbs up
by: heavy

I am using Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit and have been since I installed 7. I have had one program that wouldn't run on it and I wasn't surprised as it was older than dirt.

Works Great!!
by: InnerLogic

I've had almost no trouble with games on Win 7 x64, only a few really old games had some troubles. All the newest games work with no problems.

Windows 7 (64 Bit)
by: Kenneth

Why do people jump the gun to buy Windows whenever Microsoft releases a new version? Isn't it smarter to wait and do your research and download and install a pre-release version and test it out with 32 bit software first before you spend the money to get it?

Just wondering...
