Win7 Calculator results are cleared when mode is changed

I would really like the Calculator's current calculation result to remain when switching modes.

Why is it useful:
-----------------
If I need to do floating point calculations on Hex values (such as Log of 0x453A, for example), in the old Calculator (WinXP, for example) I would have typed in the 0x453A value in Hex mode, switch it to Dec mode and do the Log on the Dec value.

In Win7 I would have liked to do the following:
Switch to Programmer mode ->
work in Hex ->
enter 0x453A ->
change to Dec ->
switch to Scientific mode ->
perform log.

However, since the calculation results are cleared on Mode switch I will need to add extra two operations:

Switch to Programmer mode ->
work in Hex ->
enter 0x453A ->
change to Dec ->
***Store in Memory*** ->
switch to Scientific mode ->
***Restore from Memory*** ->
perform log.

Moshe.
