by: Anonymous

that's not so correct...
that's the first time i buy a laptop with genuine windows installed. when u download from the internet windows with crack then u have installation CD. when i bought it legal with license then i have no CD ?!?!?
and anyway HP doesn't send Cd's because i have bought my laptop in the US and as a mobile device it should get warranty and support world wide but they don't...
and i am out of USA...
to sad and too bad...
u pay money, u get legal software and u get fucked up ....

HP Offers backups for a price
by: Ricky

That's why I like Dell their about the only one that offers BackUp Disk, along with an image restore partition.
But to answer your question HP offers at the time of order off of their website Backup disk to the OS installed on your laptop at the time of mfg.
You should be able to go online or call with your Model n Serial# and they should be able to set You Up. I think the back ups were like $20 USD

Now though a word of warning I had an Acer Aspire that I bought the backup disk for figuring that if something fouled up my restore partition I could reinstall it to Factory specs like you can with Dell>>> WRONG <<<, My restore partition got fouled up so I had to wipe it, went to use the Recovery Disk, said recovery Partition Not found can't continue with install.

So I had to get me a Full Install DVD for Vista to recover it. Far from factory specs.

My advice to you Buy a FULL Version Disk and save yourself alot of heart ache.

I'm lucky though with my Dell I can upgrade to 7 with one of the Upgrade Disk I bought.
Because I have the back up OS Disk that came for Vista when I bought it, And I totally redid my Dell Lappy's HD to suit myself getting rid of the Dell Restore partition all together. Hope this Helps..
