Windows 7 User Submissions

I gotta say W7 is rockin my pc's.

I installed the 32 bit version on my older laptop with the bare minimum required to run it.

It literally brought my old cruddy hp laptop to life again.

It had vista on it before. Now it is tweaked out more then a hobo on crack, =o.. It is as if W7 pumped it full of steroids. Very much improved.

So this got me thinking . If Windows 7 could make old cruddy laptop young and rejuvinated again, What would a 64 bit version do to my 12 gig, quad core intel, 4ghz, nvidia rigg, running vista ultimate????

I just could not help myself . I know it is not advised to install W7 on your main pc, but i just had to see what it would be like.

I am a 3d animation artist who works with high rez stuff in zbrush and a couple of other memory eating programs.

Vista and xp are just not doing the job for me, My high end Mac is not cutting it either. even with all my 12 gigs of ram and quad cores. It should be better..

I made a partition on my secondary hard disk and devoted it to Windows 7. Successfully downloaded my trial of the 64 bit platform and installed it no problem. Easy as cake.

I am still in awe after installing this on my rig. Windows 7 on a quality pc is FREAKING INSANE compared to vista and xp.

The performance is outstanding, The memory and cpu usage it uses is so minimal, It has managed to turn my already great desktop into some kind of super beast computer.

I have really seen nothing like this as far as performance goes. =]

My work flow has increased immensly with w7. Even if it crashes and destroys my harddrive, it will be worth it because of the time i have saved rendering high rez sculptures.

If this is only the beta , Then i cannot wait for the actual release. =]
