my wireless connection shows connected to the internet, yet it won't allow me to browse the internet nor do i get email.

I have to use windows 8 browser "detect internet" button on a blank page, because windows cannot detect an internet connection.

But on my other computer..i simply turn it on, and click internet explorer and i am online.

I use a "netgear" usb wireless unit on my other laptop, and that is the one that cannot or does not work..but it is using windows xp pro.
The ones that do connect use windows 7. Strange.

Unless i manually let windows xp pro repair the connection. i willnever get online.
