stumped by a new "feature"

by dmanflan

I don't know if this is the proper forum, but... I am volunteering my IT/PC skills for the migration of a national charitable organization's local office to 21st century technology.

It must be that a new OS "feature" that is inhibiting our conversion completion.

A photo DVD shows all the picture files under any other operating system (back to Win 2000!)and on any other hardware (back to a PS/2) but not on our brand new HP machines under Windows 7 Professional.

I can see all the folders on the disk, just not the individual files in those folders.

I'm also running Norton Internet security 2010. I don't have any warning messages from either the OS or Norton.

Any ideas?
