So I understand, this ipad device will do everything the iPhone will do except allow us to make a phone call, right?

If so, is the answer to get the real cheap cell phone and use this iPad device for everything else including email, text messages, calendars, web access, etc as this device will access the same network as the cell phones do so we are online whenever we have a cell signal.

If this is right, what do we do to with the iPhones or other devices?

Is there a place where this will work or is the iPad a simple fad that will go away as it doesn't have the power of the netbook or small computer..

Do we use this iPad in lieu of a tablet/laptop or what?
