I have similar problems with my PC

I have a Gateway E-Machine. When I bought it the PC was running Windows Home Basic,32,515 mbs Intel Processor etc. Currently my Computer crashes (I did put more memory) in order to upgrade to Home Premium,approx 2 yrs ago.

As of todate My Desktop PC runs erractially, opens windows uncontrollably, crashes, lost Windows Defender, Icons changed,to LNK files, Blah blah blah.....!

I am so frustrated with Microsoft. That co. will not leave anything/program alone. They send e-mail updates with problem solving little "Do Dads." I've tried some of they're recommendations but they "Get you" because of the "Fine Print" on the "Free" Fixes" Which is all BS.I in my opinion find that Microsoft is not "User Friendly" and $$ hungry Mongrels. Windows 7?? Please!!!!! Another Micro-soft "Rip Off."
