Regarding MPEG2 encoder

Hi
I want to encode uncompressed AVI files into MPEG2 file format.

Can i use the encoder provided by MicroSoft in Windows7?

As it does not get enlisted in the available video compressors on the machine on which Windows 7 is installed?
