Problems with installing Windows 7 RC 1

Hi I'm sorry to write this because I really wanted to test windows 7 from an average user's viewpoint.
Here we go, downloaded the first RC 1 candidate two days after release. Burned it to a disc and set up a partition on my c drive.
I then tried to install it, the installation went through to expanding windows files 27%, at which point it froze.
I left it for an hour then tried to exit set up no joy ended up 30 minutes later pulling the plug on the computer, it was the only way to get out of the program.
Next I re burned it to another disc and tried again same story through to pulling the plug.
I then downloaded windows 7 again figuring the problem might be a corrupted download.
Burned it on the same computer, and tried to install again, everything worked out the same, however, the program kept (as in the previous two attempts) trying apparently to install as after the % sign three dots kept appearing.
At which point I left it for 12 hours, no change so again I pulled the plug as there was no way to get out of the program.
The following day I set up another partition on my secondary hard drive.
I downloaded another program on a different computer and burned it to a disc on that computer. I then went to my other computer and tried to install on the new partition, exactly the same result, froze at expanding windows files 27%.
This time I left it running 18 hours and then pulled the plug.
For the fifth attempt I returned to the first partition and attempted to install to that with the third downloaded program.
Exactly the same 27% and froze, I've now given up trying to install this program.
I would install it on my other computer but it needs too many upgrades. My main computer has a quad core 6600 intel processor, 4 gig of ram, Nvidia 9500, 512 mb card, and an Asus p5k board.
Just in case somebody can tell me what's wrong my e mail is tcoa1@blueyonder.co.uk. Thank you hope this helps ?
