Windows Feedback Panel -
Good Morning 01/02/09. I have been a part of the Windows Feedback Panel for at least 4 maybe 5 years.
When Vista was in Beta testing I was chosen by Microsoft to be part of that group.
Unfortunately in my view I was testing Vista on a Machine that ran Windows XP very well but was not capable of Hardware rigors of running Windows Vista.
Also I was inexperienced in what was required for Beta testing.
During the experience of Beta Testing I learned and perfected how to test the Beta Software and still be able to run the prior Operating Software.
On 12/31/08 I was looking for something new to do with the present Computer which is two machines after the Machine I tested the Vista Beta Software.
It was stated on the Internet that Windows 7 Build 7000 had been leaked to BitTorrent.
I had no idea what that was but as of yesterday I have a copy running on my Computer.
I have tried for about the last six months to become part of the Beta testing for Windows 7, especially because I think I might have a better idea of what to do. The problem with this copy of Windows 7 is that it is obviously a ‘outlaw’ copy.
Simply put is there a way that I can be allowed to test this software and report my results, especially because now I have a machine that is capable of testing the software. Also it would be nice if someone would respond to this e-mail and even better if I was allowed to participate in the testing. It was, in my opinion worth all of the trouble to be given a copy of the finished work.
Specifications of my present Notebook.
Model: HP Pavilion Entertainment PC -> dv5-1125nr
Ram: 4 Gigs; HD: 250 Gigs –> C: 125 G -> Windows Vista 64-bit; D: 84G -> My Documents; E: 40G ->Windows 7
Video: 256 Mb dedicated and up to 2 G; 15.4″ Display, Modem, Wireless G, Network, TV Interface, Media Card reader, etc.
DVD/CD RW, Webcam
Results: Windows 7 installed without a hitch. After installation of Windows Vista 32-bit drivers it functions perfectly. It appears to be a very peppy system with really neat improvements. Windows One Care live won’t install because it does not view Windows 7 as a ‘verifiable Microsoft Windows’ Operating system.
Finally if someone does respond to this e-mail, and if I am taken seriously, as well as this information is referred to a party or parties that can respond — Please tell me what information would be helpful to know –>> concerning Test results that is.
