Windows 7 User Submissions

I have a very unhappy 11 year old this christmas.

We have happily had a wireless home network using xp and vista pc's and laptops.

We've bought an inspiron desktop 545 with wireless card and although it connects to the router (dlink) it still has no internet access. googling around suggests there are a lot of windows 7 and wireless issues.

has anybody else had the same problem?
