Move over god mode
Previously, I wrote an article for Windows7Update about "god mode". This is a hack that provides access to Control Panel options.
In it I explained how to create individual “godmode” Desktop icons using each of the strings.
The table below shows the Strings and what they do.

Each of these strings creates a Control Panel Desktop icon.
To create one do the following:
-
Right click on the Desktop.
-
In the pop-up menu, select Folder.
-
When the new folder, opens type “GodMode” followed by a full stop then the string. For example typing – GodMode.{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} opens the folder displaying

Improving Desktop Context Menus
As I’m always looking for new information , recently I found
a new website –"Tweaking with Vishal" available on
www.askvg.com.
It provides lots of useful information on Windows 7 and of course, Vista and Windows XP.
I found an article “Create Shortcuts to Themes, Desktop
Background, Screen Saver, Display Settings and More”.
This article provided great tips and hacks for improving the
Desktop Context Menu.
At the end of the article was a hyperlink which opened to a
Zip file.
This contains individual commands that change Register settings.
Download Ready-Made Desktop Properties Tabs Shortcuts.
The ZIP file covers commands to access these features normally accessible through the Control Panel.
- Themes
- Desktop Background
- Screen Saver
- Appearance
- Display Settings
- Desktop Icon Settings
- DPI Scaling
- Window Colorization
Putting the Hack to work
While Vishal offers lots of good suggestions about how to
employ these commands, at the end of article there is a
hyperlink which saves you time.
This hack works in both Vista and Windows 7. Once you
double-click the hyperlink it downloads as a ZIP file. The
ZIP file contains seven useful commands changing the
Register with each one adding a new command to your Desktop
Context Menu.
Note: Each command has to be installed individually.
Double-click on each one and follow the on-screen prompts.
Important! The last command on the list, Remove Options.reg removes all the changes made to the Desktop Context Menu.

Your Desktop Context menu will look like this.

So there you have it, a new and quicker way to add important commands such as “Changing your Screen Saver”, “ Changing the DPI Scaling” et al on the Desktop Context Menu .
