MKV is a no go

by CrowdedCranium
(Oklahoma city, USA, Earth, Sol)

Love the h.264 and ac3.

But, the audio does not come through playing mkv files.

Installed divx and media player (whichever is bundled with win7 on a compaq) will play the video very nicely but the ac3 audio does not.

Thought I would try ac3 filter and see if I can work with the MKV file.

I have not fiddled with this HD package before aquiring this compac last week.

I'm a bit in the dark.

I succeeded in ignoring Vista.

And have had fun with the bundled win7-64.
A new puzzle to navigate.
