I am currently using Vista and would like to learn whether Windows 7 cures some of the most annoying faults.
My main complaint is that I am not in charge of my own computer.
If I want to put my computer on standby the only option is “sleep” and my laptop frequently restarts immediately after I put it to sleep.
Also, the hard disc is frequently working continuously for hours when I am not doing anything.
With XP I can back up automatically and use System Restore if I want to eliminate an unsatisfactory program a few months after installation.
Less than 3 months after purchase of Vista, the space allocated for backup was full so I had to give it up.
Many of the backup files seemed to be clones of earlier ones
