In Portugal, legit Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard costs 29 €. This means it costs less than 25 us$. In ebay prices vary, but none over 100 us$. I never justify stealing, I even wrote "PIRACY is wrong and should be banned"; I was just putting things in perspective: crying for the losses of Microsoft it´s almost outrageous! Microsoft is reaping us off because Microsoft charges too much. I never played ROBIN HOOD, nor defended it. I just think it's a bit poor to think Microsoft piracy is a problem to the company. Furthermore, piracy helps MS, by reaching people they wouldn't reach. Those people get used to MS products witch makes it easy for their employers to use MS products. That's why so many companies work with MS or Mac products and not with free OS. I never said I'm a user of piracy. I have a legit copy of W7 on my desktop and a pirated one in my laptop, because I'm waiting on MS to release the students/teachers campaign, they promise to release in the 1st November. It´s 5 December and I'm still waiting. When it comes, I will buy it and install it. Obviously, it will cost me about 25 us$. So, as you see, you miss all over. And didn't even comment on the prices policy of Microsoft.

$30.00 US for Mac's OS is BULL! It's more than that. Try $249.99 For Mac OS X Justifying stealing Microsoft OS produicts because you think they make too much profit is just like driving off not paying for your gasoline / petrol because you think the freaking Arabs are getting too fat, too rich, and too bossy. (I agree, I don't like the Arabs AT ALL. But I don't steal the fuel.) I'll have to agree to disagree. Your premise is that it's OK to play Robin Hood if YOU think it's OK. That's the rationale of every theif I ever arrested. (I'm an ex-cop.) Enjoy your life, and I hope you enjoy looking over your shoyulder. At some point in time, illegitimate copies of software will be logging their existence and IP to software company servers. It won't take long to find you.

You're right: it is illegal to steal! Microsoft spends less than 100 million us$ to create and advertise W7, and sell it at us$ 200 a piece. This means that if w7 is bought by 500 thousand people worldwide, MS gets the money they invested. IF Microsoft had 1 million copies sold, they would earn 100 million dollars (200 Million made - 100 million spent). If they were expecting to sell 2 or 3 million copies, this was the right price for W7. My problem is that MS expects to sell more than 2 million copies in the first day. Globally, until 2011, even with piracy, MS WILL sell more than 2 million copies in Belgium (a country with 10 million people). Worldwide, MS is STEALING. Mac OS costs about 30 US$. Is mac company stupid? Are they expecting to lose money? They don´t employ people that need to feed their families? will they sell more OS than MS? Won´t their OS be hacked as well? None of the answers is yes. So, the only conclusion is "Microsoft is stealing, by abusing his dominant position and pricing their product way more than they should". PIRACY is wrong and should be banned; OVERPRICING is also wrong and it should be also banned. And I didn't talk about the ways MS tries to force their buyers to buy their products: in such an illegal way that is always being sued by European Union.
