Windows 7 is like the good old Hoover Vaccuum, it sucks, Big Time. There are programs that I have being using a long time without one single problem under Windows XP. Now with this Windows 7 Home Premium which was on a new laptop I bought back in April 2010 all I get are crashes on the same stable programs. Or even just in regular web surfing it will crash. Screen will freeze sometimes, other times I get the no connection message and I run the diagnosis, that comes back saying no problem detected....but yet I crashed. Any thoughts about putting Windows XP on this computer, or otherwise how I can remedy this flakey Windows 7 edition. I hate it.

I had a problem with booting to a black screen with just a cursor. Ctl-alt-delete to kill explorer and then restart explorer was the only way to get to the desktop. Then, it took 14 minutes to establish a network connection. If I tried anything during that time, the system would hang. After 14 minutes, everything worked alright.

Yesterday, MS did an update (one fix was the IE security patch). Lo and behold, the above problems disappeared!
