I am experiencing lock-ups in win 7

I am experiencing lock-ups in win 7.

Generally after a double click a program the pc locks for a minute or so... then it functions ok. Really strange because it doesn't do anything...at least vista would work the hard drive during lockups.

running win 7 RC build 7100 on:
asus m2v mb
athlon64 3000+
2gb ram
asus nvidia 7300 silent
