HP Officejet Pro L7680

So far I like Windows 7 a whole lot better than Vista.
It appears to be faster and some of the little things really have made it more friendly.
I like the fact that you really have control over the level of security so those of us who have a little more expertise can get rid of the annoying permissions and do you know what you are doing stuff.
I never really got into Vista so kind of stayed with XP on all my machines...Vista was a bust. I think I'm going really like Windows 7, have it running on one of my machines, but not all.
Now for sum of the issues.
1. My HP Officejet Pro L7680...if I download the Vista software, it doesn't load properly...senses that the operating system (Windows 7) is not recognizable. Consequently HP Solution Center does work, so there goes Scanning And Faxing. If I have Windows 7 such for the L7680 network printer, it finds it and assigned the correct driver for printing. Lost without Scanning and Faxing, but HP Tech support assures me that a correct set of software is on its way.
2. I rely on an old version of Adobe Professional (version 6.0) to correct my PDF from an Adobe print driver. It doesn't work with Windows 7 because of the print driver. So that means I will probably have to spring for the newer version of Adobe Standard to do what I want.
3. Like Vista....drivers appear to be the biggest problem. Maybe over time this will be solve.
The terrible part about all of this is that Windows XP is a fine operating system and stable.
There is really no great benefit from Vista or Windows 7, except some gadgets and eye candy.
Just another way for MS to make more money.
