Wow Big John, have a heart. He is a fellow Windows user. I have not experience none of that guys disasters and you are probably correct in stating his present equipment does not meet the requirement to run ultimate successfully and need to use the upgrade advisor or purchase a machine with the necessary guts to handle Ultimate. Poor Basta%#, I feel for him. Especially spending the $319.. for a retail version offering no migration of his past programs and staying up fore ever to do a clean install, losing everything including his common sense. I think Bill Gate should at lease offer this guy a free PC for his time and effort and waive the policy of not knowing the upgrade testing, which is clearly stated before you test and install, but like most of us, we get so excited about something new and miss the fine print and Big John, admit, you have on occasion miss a few fine prints yourself. Look in your old parts and help this poor fellow and send him a couple to upgrade his machine....

Sounds like you are trying to run a modern OS on a piece of crap antique box.
Wait a couple years and study the upgrade guides.
What is your Windows upgrade score?
You can't get any help if you do not provide basic info.
If all you can do is complain, figure it out yourself.
