Help please with the search folder list

We have a subfolder system to organise all the files(eg. document type\year\month\name).

When searching for a specific file in a document type folder, the results are automatically listed by the last subfolder in the chain (month) instead of the first subfolder (year).

I cannot find any way of changing the order of this.

Has anyone found out how to change this?
