Have to decide if installation is worth the hassle

NO story, I didn't take Windows 7 on a picnic.

I wish to know if I upgrade will I have to reinstall my software. The utility I downloaded mention some of my software and it's status but I have much more than that.

I have Adobe CS4 and don't know about that. Plus smaller programs, utilities, bit defender and more.

Also does it help to make a partition in my C drive and load 7 there. Or do I have wipe out everything and format C
