Getting Back My Files

by Rosie

I have Vista Basic on my PC.

I wanted to upgrade to Vista (32 bit), so I backed up all my files on disks. I am able to get them off of the disks, but it puts it under a different user.

(Only one user on the PC, but I must have renamed it when I started 7.) It is a major hassle to add it to this user and also takes up a ton of storage.

I do not know how to determine the file path to make it go directly to this user.

Is it possible? How do I permanently delete where a few files had been stored so I don’t have double? I should have left well enough alone!
