Windows 7 User Submissions

Freezing up at random times

So I have a Fujitsu Siemens Laptop with AMD TURION64 X2 (1.6GHz), 2GB RAM, 120HDD and ATI x1100 graphics.

My Windows 7 RC is freezing up at random time intervals.

Sometimes it does it when I'm browsing, other when I'm working with MATLAB - so it's not a program that is causing it. Sometimes I can work for hours without a freeze up and then suddenly...

It happens when I really use a lot of resources but also when I use practically nothing. So i have no idea what the problem is.

My only hunch is the graphics. I had to use Windows Update in order to get a good driver because none of the drivers from the official ATI site worked.

I used Vista Business before for a whole year and this never happened.
