XP to Win 7
by: Dennis F.

First, click on this link.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/

This is a Microsoft page with further links to your questions including what version and will it run on my machine.

1.2 GB is not enough memory. This probably means you have a old CPU also. To be sure, just click on one of the MS links.

Unfortunately, XP to Win 7 is not an upgrade. It is a replacement. Which means that you start from day 1. XP, and all your files and programs will be lost. You have to reload everything. You do have a backup, don't you.

Bottom line: you don't have enough memory and probably have an older, slow CPU. I wouldn't try it. Get a new PC with Win 7 already installed.
