Windows 7 User Submissions
Displaying Available Programs

Starting with the old Windows 3.0, one had sets of folders, where one could move icons around. In Windows 7, that is possible to do manually on the desktop, but I find no automatic method. New programs do not install into a folder as in the past.
This change is similar to the change in Office 2007, whereby the handy icon bars at the top were replaced by the hopelessly complex mess of changing ribbon bars. Some people pay up to $39.95 to get a program that displays the earlier Widnows 2003 icon bars across the top of Office 2007; i.e., paying to go backwards.
I do not like to find a program in Windows 7 by typing a few characters into "Search," because I like to see the choice of programs before choosing. For example, if I have 30 games, I want to see the 30 icons before choosing which game to play.
Anyone know of an easy way to do this? Or a menuing program in shareware or freeware for Windows7 that does this? I guess I am willing to pay to go backward.
