Computer Freezes while connected to the internet

by Jim Coffey
(Leeds, UK)

The computer completely freezes while connected to the internet.

At first the browser buttons stop responding, and then the mouse pointer freezes in space; No buttons work, and can't even Control-Alt-Delete to raise the Task Manager.

Have waited for more than half an hour on one occasion to see if it will un-freeze, but it stays frozen. The only option is to do a hard re-boot.

It doesn't seem to matter what browser is running - have experienced freezes with IE8, FF3, and Google Chrome;

Have now found that the computer even freezes while not browsing - just have to be connected to the internet. (Browsing does seem to trigger a freeze more quickly)

Very annoying, going to have to go back to Windows Vista.
Can I have my money back for buying Windows 7 when it is not usable?
(Seriously, EVERYTHING depends on an internet connection nowadays...)
