Clean Install and Upgrade
by: RoddyC

For your Dell Desk top (Vista home prenium) do an Upgrade - i..e insert your Win7 DVD and upgrade over Vista. I have NEVER been an advocate of doing an upgrade like this, and have never done one until now, as Windows always gets "mucked-up" somewhere. Have done THREE now and am very impressed with the upgrade option. Works beautifully!
For your HP Laptop Vista Ultimate you will need a clean install, as you cant upgrade 'backwards'. Check here: http://is.gd/2RdHI
Cheers.

Like every other Windows product all you will need is the CD/DVD with your vista on it. From way back Microsoft has just asked for the First floppy of your Windows 3.0/1 to upgrade to 95 and so on. So all you need is to have is the main disk of your HP computer if you haven't burned it yet, you better as you will need it. From there it's all Ice-cream LT.Dan, Win7 is the way to go, you will be surprised as your HP laptop will run like a scalded dog Seven instead of Windows Vista. Good luck on the Fresh installs using Upgrades DVD's. Just make sure you burn a Vista DVD before you kill your system and it will all be good.
