XP Mode intended for Businesses
by: eyeCpc

The XP Mode now available as an option for Windows 7 was developed primarily to allows businesses to upgrade from the previous versions of Windows and run their older softwares in a virtual environment. The Windows Virtual PC and the new XP Mode with XP Pro as the edition used is the means by which desktop applications written for an older version like XP can run on the newer OS.

Some drawbacks are mainly seen for the home user especially in regards to gaming where the virtual video card is typically limited to only 128mb of video memory and upto 2gb of system memory. Even with some older 9x-ME, XP game titles those simply won't run there either since gaming wasn't part of the XP Mode design which relies more on the actual physical graphics and sound your main system OS uses and sees drivers installed for.
