cannot connect to sql database

I'm using an localhost mysql database with odbc 5.1 connector.

In odbc everything it's ok, in sql admin and query browser same.

I've tryed using an external sql server...same problem.
Other things tryed :

1. mysql enterprise server with both 3.5/5.1 odbc driver
2. xampp for windows

No matter what my OS can't see the conection between app and sql database.

Other software (in case u think it's an app issue) Sugar CRM comunity edition 5.2. It gives almost the same error when i enter data "connection cu sql database fail, please check connection settings & try again".

P.S. Admit that all windows 7 products are beta testing...this software should be free as windows98.
