BSODs with antivirus installed

I've got Windows 7 installed on my Inspiron 6400 laptop, T7200 with 4gb ram and Radeon 1400 mobility graphics.

7 works like a dream except when I add any of the beta virus offerings.

All three BSOD my laptop with DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL.

It will happen randomly, either under load or at idle, I get the dreaded BSOD then the machine reboots fine.

After a little while, the cycle repeats, always seemingly randomly.

As soon as I uninstall the virus program, the issue is resolved. Anyone else having this trouble??
