Just forget it!!
Windows 7 will not work with AGP!!!
Just use XP and everything will work fine!!

Currently, I don't have problems with card detection, and I can set my desktop at 1920x1080 resolution, but...

- The gui hangs a bit when you interact with windows (create new window, move or resizing)

- The reproduction of videos and dvds in wmp is a nightmare. An excesive lag appears in the first thirty seconds of reproduction or when you change the window size. With DivX files, this issue can be fix using Media Player Classic, but on DVD reproductions, the lag still present.

But even worse if Aero is enabled. GUI hangs are a little long and Explorer.exe crashes frequently.

I've tried with these drivers with the same results:

- ATI 3850 drivers provided by Windows Update.

- Latest ATI 3850 AGP drivers for Windos Vista.

- Latest ATI 3850 drivers for Windows 7.

WHAT DRIVER???

This is a terrible article, "HEY GUYS ATI RADEON 3850 WORKS FINE" yet you dont tell us the steps you did to get it working??? what driver did you use??? where did you get it from???

Ive been pulling my hair out for days trying to get this POS ATI card to work in windows 7, but to no avail, The best ive got is used the vista 32 bit agp driver the device installs its detected yet when you reboot and try to change the resolution you get an error saying "THIS IS NOT A VALID ATI DRIVER".

GG this card has been nothign but misery for me since i got it! First and Last ATI i buy imo, NVIDA ftw.

Cant run any 3D app without it freezing the comp within several minutes at best. Ive tried every thing from cat 9.4 - 9.7 with Win7 with ccc and drivers only. the AGP hot fix and Win7 simply do not work together. Pretty crappy of AMD/ATI to sell a card for well over hundred that is not ever worked right in any platform with any OS. This card has never worked with Halo and other 3D apps no matter the configuration. ATI Thumbs DOWN.
