As it seems many Vista drivers will work in Windows 7. Hence I used the latest Webcamdriver for Vista. In my case 32bit Windows and the Logitech camera (built in)also known as Orbicam.

Camera_Logitech_9.1.0.429_VistaX86.zip

Installation went flawlessly and Webcam works fine, at last.

Should you encounter cardreaderproblems: remember the reader is not SDHC compliant! For what the driver is concerned: one can use the latest Vista version as well.

Install Acer Power Management V2.5.3007[works with Windows 7,for Bluetooth enabling.

Install Acer OrbiCam (Logitech) V10.4.0.1319: setup in vista compability mode.

Hallo Vigor,

Na installatie van Windows 7 heb ik problemen met zowel Bluetooth als de webcam. De site van Acer geeft hiervoor echter geen ondersteuning. Kun jij mij helpen aan de drivers hiervoor?

De Harddisk is a Samsung HM320II brandnew and 1 week old.
I tested it with Samsungs EStool [latest version 3.00g].
No erros were found with extended surface test; smart info is OK.

Do a scan of your h/d for any errors could be the h/d is on it way out and you need to get a new drive


Re: I/O errors: is it an IDE controller problem or the hard disk is dying?
First, backup anything important.

Next, grab UBCD from here: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

Now run HDAT2 which comes on the CD, its in hard disk tools > diagnostic tools.

It should both tell you if there are any smart errors in the drive log, let you run extended self tests on the drive, and then you absolutely want to run the "find and repair bad sectors" thing, which can't really be done from Linux.

When the kernel log starts giving you specific sector numbers repeatedly its probably the disk surface itself getting old or perhaps damaged.

How old is the drive in the laptop? Do you know?
