Windows 7 User Submissions

I have installed windows 7 two times on a desktop machine and can get it to run and go online but after installing " some" other software suddenly my Lan connection does not work .

Does anyone discovered what sofware might do the problem apart from Windows 7 systems sofware itself , maybe? I have had to install the Windows 7 from clicking F8 and start up in secure safe startup or what it is called.

Some tell me if you have run into this problem and what might be helpfull.
