A new beginning

It's nice to finally see a fresh operating system coming onto the market that runs better than the one previous to itself.
I have been working in the computer industry for many years and have played with nearly all versions of windows (well, Windows 3.0 to current) and over the years I have seen features that were improvements and other features that are not to fantastic.
With the release of Vista leading to an anticlimax its beginning to resurface the same feelings that were seen during the Windows Millenium Edition days, that too was quickly whisked away with Windows XP.
From the Beta that I have tried, Windows 7 is a vast improvement on Vista, for myself the main benefit was the increase in preformance on my hardware I was testing it on (P4 1.6Ghz 512MbRAM, 256Mb GeForce GFX).
My wife's laptop is a Dual core Athlon 64, it originally came with Vista but it had so many problems (and this was factory pre-installed!) we had to downgrade (or is that upgrade) to Windows XP.
So for now we have to wait it out another 2 months then we can get Windows 7 and be able to take full advantage of the processor.
For Windows 7: I wish it the best of luck,
as for Vista: Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
