Windows 7 Library - Documents
Windows 7 is much improved in its ability to handle many different types of document formats.
By default, all user-generated documents are
stored in the My Documents folder. However, certain
applications have their default folders for storing the
documents they generate.
Document libraries are an easy way to keep track of the
documents on your computer.

The Documents library shows all the documents located in the My Documents folder by default. You may however include other folders in your Documents as well.
There are many document types that may be created by several different applications. Files in several popular audio formats, for example .mp3 or .wav files may be created and played by several different applications.
In these cases one of these applications will be the default application, and double-clicking on the file automatically opens it with the default application.
It is possible to open the file with another relevant application however, if you right-button click on it and select the desired application from the open with option.
