Troubleshooting Computer Problems - Part 2
Advice from Windows Help
Windows Vista suffered from problems sorting out drivers for older hardware and software.
Even though Windows 7 is far superior to its predecessor,
occasionally you may find a problem with a piece of
hardware, a printer for example or perhaps a sound card.
Windows 7’s Help provides quick and easy access to Windows
7’s Troubleshooters. Use them to solve your problems.
To access Help’s suggestions for Problem Solving do the
following:
- Click the Start button.
- When the Start menu opens, select Help and Support.
- In the Search Help box, type troubleshooters.
- Click the small magnifying glass.

- Help lists specific areas where a troubleshooter is available.
- Scroll down the list to find that specific problem.

- Once you see the troubleshooter that fits your problem, click it and the specific Troubleshooter opens.
Let’s put a Troubleshooter to the test. Let’s assume you have a problem getting Aero to work.
- Click the “Open the Aero troubleshooter”.

- Help opens an information page about the Aero Troubleshooter.

- To access this troubleshooter, Click to open Aero troubleshooter.

- The Aero troubleshooter begins. Follow the prompts.

- Click Next.

- The Troubleshooter checks video and driver settings.

- If it finds a problem it offers a solution. +Note: In this example the Troubleshooter found everything in order.
- When you have finished with the Troubleshooter, click the Close button.
So there you have it! Troubleshooters can solve many common problems!
