Uniblue PowerSuite is a quality PC system utility of tools to keep your PC running smooth and fast.

Its utilities include everything from spyware removal and prevention to assistance in removing installed programs and defragmenting your computer registry. In all, Uniblue PowerSuite is a great set of useful utilities that have impressed us quite a bit in our testing.

One thing we really liked about PC utility is that it isn't as cluttered as many PC System Utilities programs we have seen. The options are pared down to things the common user will find useful.

This keeps the product simple, while still retaining a level of functionality that is superior to many other products.

Maintenance/Diagnostics:
Perhaps the biggest strength of Uniblue PowerSuite is its ability to prevent problems from happening. While other system utilities might be good at addressing problems after they pop up, this system utility can perform preventative maintenance keep your computer in top condition. Of course, there are things that would lead to system crashes that this PC utility doesn't address, such as disk errors, virus and spyware.

Essentially, Uniblue PowerSuite scratches the surface of the problems that could happen, but they don't address the real concerns that could compromise your system's stability. If you want to keep your system maintained, you might have to use this program in combination with another high-ranked system utility.

Repair/Recovery:
Uniblue PowerSuite doesn't provide much in terms of repair and recovery options. RegistryBooster repairs errors in the registry, but that's about it. SpeedUpMyPC performs a series of tweaks on your system, but it doesn't repair anything. DriverScanner updates out-of-date device drivers, but it doesn't do anything to repair drivers that are corrupted.

While repairing the registry is an essential part of any system utility that wants to consider itself the best, the quality of this feature isn't going to make or break the repair and recovery aspect of a program. If anything, system utilities that just have registry repairing options should be looked at as being lesser than system utilities that have ample repair and recovery options.

Optimization:
Uniblue PowerSuite takes advantage of its three facets to optimize your computer. RegistryBooster repairs errors in your registry and then defragments the registry to minimize its size and make it run more smoothly. Having out-of-date drivers is the last predicament you would want to be in with your system.

When a new version of a driver comes out and you still haven't updated it, everything starts to work improperly because its sending messages meant for the new driver to an old driver that can't understand them. With DriverScanner, you can take advantage of state of the art driver update software to make sure you never have to deal with the trauma of the inevitable system crash that comes as a result of having out-of-date drivers.

If you want to speed up your system even further, you can head over to the SpeedUpMyPC section of Uniblue PowerSuite. SpeedUpMyPC is a slick little tool that performs system tweaks, has a series of speed tools and removes junk files. The criteria SpeedUpMyPC in the system tweaks and speed tools sections of its scanning process is unclear, but it does do wonders for a machine that's acting sluggish.

Ease of Use:
Uniblue has created a utility suite that is fairly easy to use. Uniblue PowerSuite uses a loading screen that tells you the status of your computer from all three included programs (RegistryBooster, SpeedUpMyPC, and DriverScanner). Most of the options are one click, while the ones that are not include easy to follow instructions.

While it's nice that the suite contains the functions of three programs, having three separate programs can be confusing and frustrating at times. The interface and feel of all three are identical, and easy to use and navigate. But having to navigate between the three does have it's downside.

Help & Support:
Support for Uniblue PowerSuite is limited to an online FAQ/Knowledgebase and a support ticketing system. The FAQs section is full featured and well stocked with questions.

Summary:
If you are looking to keep your system running clean and fast, Uniblue PowerSuite is a great option. It includes spyware protection as well as offering a host of applications to help keep your PC clean and running fast. This PC utility is easy to use and comes with good support.
