64 bit Windows 7 OS installed on new Dell laptop?

The dell (pre-built) Dell laptop I am interested in has Windows 7 64 bit pre installed...

Is this going to cause any problems with any of my existing software or any future software installed?...

Does the 64 bit OS have any disadvantages over the 32 bit version by limiting the type of of software that you can install and run?...
