3 gripes; Win 7 starter, Keyboard and audio

I've always been a fan of Toshiba laptops, some of the best on the market for many years.
But I recently bought a NB 305 netbook, and while there are many things to like about this model, such as the long battery life, I have 3 gripes.
1) Win 7 starter is missing so many features that it doesn't really qualify as a real OS. It is teaseware, which tries to get you so irritated at its missing features that you will be willing to shell out big bucks for an upgrade. This guarantees ticked off customers. Why, Toshiba?
2) The keys on the keyboard are so slippery, and so flat that I am constantly pressing two or more keys at once. I'm thinking of taking sandpaper to the keys to roughen the surfaces, but I'm afraid of what the resulting dust might do. And a few keys seem to have defective switches. You have to tap them really hard to get a response. Also, the tab and enter keys are unnecessarily small.
Finally, 3) the internal microphone cannot be muted! This causes horrible howling problems when playing any kind of audio. Come on, Toshiba, get your act together.
